Bunheads

by Sophie Flack
294 pages
Summary: Hannah Ward, has always dreamed of being a ballerina, and when she turned 14, she got her chance to dance with the Manhattan Ballet Company . Now 19, her dream is to become a soloist...
Now that she has a chance, there's a chance. With feelings of jealousy, and friends and boy issues, Hannah realizes that outside of dance, she hasn't experienced that much. She must decide whether to compete with the other "bunheads" or strike out on her own. This book follows Hannah through three intense ballet seasons, and through intense rehearsals, dazzling performances, backstage relationships, and tough decisions, Bunheads is the book to read.

My Reaction: Sure the title is a little weird, but once you figure out what the definition is in the book, you start to realize why it's called that. So besides that I really liked this book. The beginning I thought was amazing. I liked how Sophie Flack, was a ballet dancer, and how she detailed the emotions of a ballet dancer. She also did a great job with explaining ballet moves and costumes. I liked how the book was not only a story but and introduction to dance. Watch out NFL players, cause here come the Bunheads.

Rating: 10/10
